A group of workers at the wholesale market, believed to be Myanmar nationals, came to the aid of the victim and chased the suspect.
Kuala Lumpur Deputy CID Chief ACP Khairi Ahrasa said the suspects, who had driven to the market in a Proton Waja and a pick-up truck, tried to escape but their getaway vehicles skidded and crashed into a restaurant.
“Two of the suspects failed to escape and were severely beaten by workers at the wholesale market.
“One of the suspects, aged 19, died at the scene while another was found with serious injuries about 20 metres from the scene but died on the way to Selayang Hospital,” he said.
Meanwhile, one of the victims of the robbers who was injured, was given medical treatment at the Selayang Hospital.
Following the incident, police detained a suspect for further investigation and urged members of the public who saw the incident to provide information to the police. – Bernama
